Data from PolitiFact which has a Texas branch. According to PolitiFact, I'm abusing their ratings since they're not meant to be used to generate "truth scores". A appreciate the limitations, but it's the best I have to go on at the moment.

My new voting strategy is to simply vote in every election for whichever candidate is most truthful. I hope PolitiFact is trustworthy.

In the 2010 elections, the tally, as of March 14th 2010 breaks down as follows:

State

Texas Governor's Race

  • Bill White: 80% (4: true -- 1: false)
  • Rick Perry: 35% (3: true, 3: mostly true - 4: half true, 3: barely true, 3: false, 1: pants on fire)

Texas Lieutenant Governor's Race

Linda Chavez-Thompson (D) and David Dewhurst (R); not enough info on either to make a determination.

Texas Attorney General

Gregg Abbott (R) and Barbara Ann Radnofsky (D); not enough info on either though Radnofsky does have one pants on fire.

Texas Agricultural Commissioner

Hank Gilbert (D) and Todd Staples (R); not enough info.

Texas Land Comissioner

Jerry Patterson (R) and Hector Uribe (D); not enough info though Uribe did say that Patterson had threatened to shoot him (Pants on Fire).

Texas US Senators

Steve Ogden (R) and Steve Wyman (D); no data.

Texas Ditrict Judge

Jennifer Balido (R) and ???.

More to go, but none have built up sufficient data yet.

National

District 10 Rep.

My district: Ted Ankrum (D) and Mike McCaul (R). No data. Though it is unsettling that McCaul's father is law is Lowry Mays, founder and chairman of Clear Channel.
