Bias Lens
From Zanecorpwiki
How do we create echo chambers?
Here's the idea:
- You think things are a certain way.
- You define anything that disagrees as "biased".
- You perceive anything that agrees as correct and necessary. Even when it violates your own moral/rational system, it's justified because of the bias that's out there. I.e., the counterweight excuse.
- This sets up a feedback loop. You not only tend to see more of actual evidence that supports you're claim, but you interpret all counter-evidence through the lens, turning it into yet more evidence. It's the idea that radiation levels must be skyrocketing because the liberal media isn't covering it.
