Summary

I saw this film on a list The 10 Most Underrated Sequels (or something like that), so perhaps my expectations were set too high... but even without that, I think this would have been a disappointing movie. Not only disappointing, but it's a bad movie and the worst kind of sequel.

Good sequels either re-invent the themes or expand on them. This really just feels like it's trying to cash in. In lots of little ways, the movie just lacks the touch that made the first so great. Whereas the first seemed natural and organic, this movie too often feels forced.

Details and Notes

The most positive thing I can say about this movie (unfortunately) is that Keanu does a good job. I also like the guy that plays death. Bill (Alex Winter) however seems rather forced. And there's not a lot else to say about the movie that's good.

Not everything about th movie is bad, but it just never really puts anything together. I could almost say the movie has a certain kitsch appeal, even with all it's flaws, except that the ending is just so poor that there's no reason to make excuses for this film.
