Buccaneer, The

Yul Brynner heads up this so-so interpretation of the story of Jean Lafitte. I appreciate many of the films of this era, but The Buccaneer just doesn't do anything for me.

There's nothing glaringly wrong with the film. There's just not much right with it either. If you're way into late 50's Hollywood, you may enjoy this one but there's little action, the love story seems contrived, and the characters don't have a lot of interest. It's just flat.
