Nassim Taleb (and others) argue persuasively that economics and finance have nothing to do with each other. I'm inclined to agree with them, but remolding the wiki takes time.

... On the other hand, in a way finance is in a way economics in practice. The free market economist, for instance, can easily dismiss bubbles as they happen because there's no "free market economic theory of bubbles", and continue to dismiss them after the fact as "normal market events" and "post ante storytelling".
