Compassion

The truth about compassion is there's always more. This is why standing in compassion is both so wonderful and so terrible at the same time.

The wonder is it's seeming boundless supply, the terror is that it will run out. The terror is it's need to increase or die, the wonder is that there's always more space.

Compassion pulls us to the edge of being where imagination itself fails and the void stretches forth and then asks "take another step". It's a wonder these polar forces originate from the same source and we're terrified that some crucial balance will be lost and everything will be torn apart.

Compassion poses terrible questions, but also provides the answers. Compassion is the mechanism by which we become aware of suffering, and it is the answer to suffering.

It seems to me quite proper to think that compassion is the soul of the divine for compassion is both utterly unitary and entirely infinite in nature.
