Dirty Harry

Summary
In a word: disappointing. Clint Eastwood is strong and rightly deserves recognition for his part in the film. Unfortunately, there's not a lot else going on. There's something about lat 60's and 70's cop movies. Too often, as is the case here, it comes off like the cops just bumble around till they catch a break.
This is probably more realistic, and maybe it's just my own bias having grown up in the era of slick, clever plots, but I find these kind of movies a bit boring. The character's aren't special, the plot isn't clever, and it's not gritty in any interesting way.
Detail and Notes
Do you feel lucky punk?. I was really looking forward to seeing the origin of one of the most quoted lines of all time. I couldn't tell you why it caught on, but it's hard to know why some lines catch on. What killed it for me, though, is that it's used twice in the movie. This takes it from a clever line to a canned pithy. I could almost see Callhoun (Eastwood's character) sitting alone at home chuckling to himself, Do you feel lucky... yeah, that's a good one.
