I kept wanting this to be a fun action/horror candy movie, but it just never did anything for me. I liked Jason Scott Lee, but the rest of the characters were just flat. There was so much stuff going on that the story ended up being unbearably bland. One guy was searching for his lost love... captured by the vampires? The main character was infected, but fighting it (but unfortunately, not in a very interesting way). There was a plucky reporter. These guys that worked for the vampires bringing them food. A rebel group who was fighting their own government, NATO (or was it the UN? Maybe both), the US, and the vampires. The Catholic church. NATO somehow knew about the vampires... or didn't? You couldn't fucking tell because they half way in, not one of the story lines had developed in any meaningful way.

It felt kind of like an entire Manga series jammed into two hours.
