Equilibrium
From Zanecorpwiki
A so-so futuristic movie that's a loose blend of Gattaca and 1984. DVD and Blu-Ray.
Summary
After WWIII, a new civilization is founded based on the suppression of emotion. The vehicle for this is the drug Equilibrium, which suppresses all emotion. Of course, there's a resistance, and there's the guy that misses his dose and turns to the side of angels. A few gun fights later and all is right with the world.
I usually don't give away spoilers, but his movie is about as predictable as they come. Passes for a decent action movie, but don't expect anything more.
Details and Notes
First, what's with the the over-the-top Nazi motifs going on? Look, the Nazi's where evil, but you can't just plop them into any "evil regime". The ideologies don't match at all.
This is probably the most blatantly derivative movie I've ever seen. As mentioned, the story is basically 1984 mashed with Farenheit 451 with a Nazi-fied Gattaca aesthetic shaken with a bit of action. Really, kind of fascinating for that reason alone. It's aggressively urbane.
