Terrible. DVD

Summary

Just terrible. Almost bad enough to be interesting, but not quite.

Notes and Details

Spoilers ahead.

One of my favorite parts is where the body guard and assassin, estranged step-brothers of sorts, are arguing. Yune's character asserts that he would have token out his brother, who needs to watch his back. The brother retorts with "It's you would've gotten got," despite the fact that he was clearly surprised and would have died. It was like two 8 year olds arguing. The dialog was consistently weak.

The real problem is that it's immature. It's written by Rick Yune, who's also the star, and you can really tell. There's a few things that are just elementary mistakes. For instance, the killers keep showing up at "the safe spots", but no one comments on this. The characters act like it's perfectly expected, which makes no sense at all. Eventually, it comes out that the pop star's manager contracted the killers, but without the proper reaction--someone saying, "How did they know?", it seems like the characters read ahead in the script.

Additionally, all the characters are caricatures, but not very interesting ones. The acting fails to convey any tension or personal interest. The plot itself was fine, but the details and execution were simply weak.
