Hulk, The
From Zanecorpwiki
Summary
A decent enough film, but not without problems. I'm not entirely sure what it is... pacing, plot, construction or something, but the movie movies fine most of the time, but then gets all jumpy. Peoples attitudes and motivations shift radically without decent explanation.
Details and Notes
I think a lot of people might have problems with the faux-comic angles and scene construction, but that's a minor point. I'm not sure if it really works, but it's not terrible.
The big problem with the movie is that the stuff with Bruce's dad makes almost no sense. Is he just crazy? I think that's it, but the problem is that the father himself (who's crazy) gives the explanation, so of course it doesn't make much sense. I couldn't follow how Bruce and the love interest's father's are related, what it was that drove the father, or anything. For instance, he says Bruce's mother feared Bruce, but one gets no sense of that. Was the father just delusional? It's hard to tell.
It does become clear by the end, but when an explanation doesn't make sense, it's confusing. The movie just jerks around from point to point.
