It's a film about the characters and their personal drama. Nothing wrong with that, just means there's not a lot to say.

The female lead (TODO: look up info) in this film was as solid as anyone else. It's really sad that our star focus means she wasn't credited in the Dish Network blurb even though she was one of the film two costars.

The film is kind of like a mirror image Leaving Las Vegas (Cage's most impressive film, by the way). Or, rather, vice versa. The male character works his way out of self destruction while the female character works her way in.
