Idea attributes:
- abstract
- each idea gets a little wiki site (for description and development)
- what are you looking for? patent, just sharing, business partners?
- set scope of sharing
- prototype provided?
- publish (can develop ideas privately, within group)
- license/copyright regime
Ratings:
- maturity of idea (pure vapor, shovel ready)
- quality of prototype
- time to business (from "generations" to already a business)
- potential value
- risk
Usage Profiles
Patent hunting : you can advertise an idea for up to a year before patenting, given time to develop simple patent, that means that in practical terms, you can put up an idea and patent hunters would have 9-11 months to find it and patent with inventor. After that point, the idea may be useful for other profiles.
Developer : Want to work on developing ideas, patent, open source, etc.
Inventor
Business : define roles in process, help organize groups of people and facilitate tasks:
- idea looks good, but need to find experts to flesh out these points
- assist in negotiating agreements
We need to set inventor expectations. Ideas are awesome, and building up cred you can start to get a bit of a premium, but money talks and many will find themselves as junior partners and even passive participants.
