A decent story but beautiful movie. [DVD] and [BluRay]

Summary

I really like the style of this movie. What you first notice is the visual style, which is really nice, but the larger work matches so well that it's hard to talk about the two separately. Don't get me wrong, this isn't movie of the year or anything, but a really enjoyable, solid work.

It's got all the classic elements of a fairy tale, but this is a gritty, adult fairy tale. And by adult, I mean a measured, self-confident film. It's not trying to be anything but the story of love, the beautiful princess, the clever commoner, and the evil prince.
