Implicit Convergence
From Zanecorpwiki
This is a problem that author's face in which the characters all drift towards the climax for no clear reason. I.e., their actions lack clear internal (character) justification. This can come across as if the point of the story is clearly to get to the end, to illustrate some point, and the character's are merely cogs in that mechanistic process.
Sometimes, is an classic fables and many myths, this is the point. The gods are not characters, but forces. It's not meant to be about character's, it's just an extended metaphor to make a point.
In many modern tails, implicit convergence is often more subtle. If characters lack sufficient Separation of Psyches, one of the effect is that they drift together because they have the "same thoughts". Implicit convergence is more about plot mechanics, while separation of psyches is more about tone and motivation, but these things do interact.
