Mr. Habits

It'd make a good movie, but the title is really about a punchline. The idea is a Red Dawn + Dennis the Menace. It's 1960, but in Sleepy Whatever, it's still 1950. Old Mr. Habits is a Korean War Vet, and Jimmy is the Dennis like character. One day, the Russians invade and Mr. Habits and Jimmy end up being the only ones not caught and rounded up into the local church (Mr. Habits was chasing Jimmy into the woods, I suspect).

Anyway, at some point Jimmy and Mr. Habits are pinned down and Mr. Habits says something along the lines of

         Mr. Habits
    You get ready to run, boy.

         Jimmy
    Don't leave me Mr. Habits.

         Mr. Habits
    Now, don't mind me Jimmy. You just run 
    when I give the word.

         Jimmy
    But Mr. Habits... they'll kill you!

         Mr. Habits
    Don't worry Jimmy. Old Habits die hard.

Bam! I remember thinking of this a long time ago and just laughing. I thought I'd noted it in the wiki. I did lose a month or two of updates once...
