Naruto(anime)

Summary
If you like the manga, you should like the show well enough, though the manga is better. We can divide the show into two epochs. In the first, which follows books 1-27 of the original Naruto manga, my only real complaint is the heavy use of flashbacks. This is especially bad if you're watching a DVD where you can easily see the same flashback multiple times in one sitting.
The second part of the anime actually goes beyond the manga and fills in the gap between the original Naruto and Naruto Shipuden. At first, I didn't mind so much, but after awhile it really starts to drag. The story isn't as good, and it becomes very formulaic, rehashing the same basic plots again and again. Also, the inte-gap tale didn't comport with the tale I made for myself which basically had Naruto primarily studying with the Pervy Sage, gaining a little wisdom and maturity. I like my story better. The problem with the gap shows is that they really can't move the characters beyond a certain point because they have to meet up with the Shipuden storyline, so everything stagnates.
Somehow, it seems that even the artwork falls off. Perhaps that's my imagination and it just gets tired after awhile.
