Not This Time

I had this dream last a few nights ago. Wish I'd written it down earlier so I'd remember the details.

There was this guy doing shit, he was like a psychopath neighbor or something. Anyway, one day he was doing something really bad. Like kicking my dog or something. Maybe worse. I had this rifle, and I thought, "I'll scare him off." In the dream I was a pretty good shot so I shot him in the arm.

A few days later, dream time, hear something and go outside and the guy was back. Whatever he was doing before, he'd stepped it up. I think maybe he'd killed my dog or something. He was laughing or something and he said, "You're not going to do anything. I know you intentionally missed last time."

I was filled with white hot rage.

I sat bolt upright in bed with my arms out as if I was holding a rifle shouting, "I won't this time!"
