Personal Beer Bias

Work in progress.

One can objectively notes notes and ingredients and perhaps imagine how others might receive a beer, but as with any subjective topic, one's own bias determine much of the experience. So, in the interest of full disclosure these are my biases.

First off, there are the things I appreciate and then there are I enjoy. It's Oh, that was interesting and Mmmm... that was good. Sometimes these things intersect, and sometimes they don't. Usually bad means that a thing is neither interesting nor good and all in all, this is generally a pretty small set.

I personally enjoy straightforward tastes. I like lots of different tastes, but am more interested in experiencing a taste rather than trying to disentangle complex tastes. When tastes are blended, I prefer they create a new (mostly) unified taste rather than present a complex cascade of tastes.

The only category that I don't really like are classic Belgian beers. Perhaps I'm being too broad, but (while I have appreciated them) I've never had a Tripel that I enjoyed. I don't know what it is exactly, but these beers come off as sour to my taste.
