Ransom (1956)

Summary
This is a good, well done film. It's an engaging film done before special effects and big action budgets. Anyone that appreciates story or narrative construction should check this out, because the telling of the story itself is clearly what makes this film a success.
Details and Notes
When I was younger, I used to watch the Donna Reed show all the time. This is the only other thing I've ever seen her in, so my first thought was, Oh shit, that's Donna Reed. With that out of the way, I was able to enjoy the movie.
As I implied in the summary, this film is both good in a general sense, and very interesting to anyone who's interested in why it's good. What makes for drama and excitement in a story in which very little actually happens? It's a clinic on raw human drama.
