Recommended Firefox Plugins
From Zanecorpwiki
Current plugins:
General
- Adblock Plus : actually installed this because an ad broke a site on Firefox and blocking it was the only way I could use the site... not that I miss ads now
- FireGPG : this in one I use every day to embed and access sensitive information in (partially) public web pages
- Vertigo : if you average more than 5-6 tabs, go vertical
- Snap Links : quickly open links
- ScrapBook : better page archiving and archive all tabs features combines nicely with Snap Links
Development
- Firebug : one of the best HTML/CSS/Javascript development tools available
- Open Java Console : for the occasional applet debug
Design
- Firebug (above) is also tremendously useful for design work.
- MeasureIt : measures arbitrary boxes on the screen; perfect for checking alignment; complements size checking through Firebug
- ColorZilla : could do with trimming as many of the features, but very nice to find color of any pixel, and my favorite, the color analyzer which brings up all the colors present on a page
- FontFinder : a nice compliment to Firebug, makes pulling up font specific styling easier
- LinkCheckr : verify that all the links on a page are good
I'm also excited to try out the Pencil Project, but need to upgrade to Firefox 3.0 first. Another great tool which I can't use, this time because it's not supported on Linux, is Fireshot.
