Summary

The Rundown is a really good candy action flick. Even though they're cut cut cut, there are a few great action sequences. The Rock and Seann William Scott are both a lot of fun, and Christopher Walken is a blast--especially playing the almost caricatured stereotype Christopher Walken character.

Details and Notes

This is a classic candy film that knows what it is and delivers. No high art, nothing much new, but that's not what the movie is about. The action sequences are better than average, and there's a couple of trick moves in this film I've never seen before.

My only real complaint is that the action scenes are the cut cut cut variety that is so common now-a-days that make anyone look good. Not that the players aren't good, and it is hard for even the best to string crazy, super high intensity moves with one fool drop kicking The Rock so he's flying through the air then some other fool come flying out of nowhere and catches The Rock mid flight. Still, I miss the long sequence shots of classic Hong Kong sometimes.
