Steam Detectives
From Zanecorpwiki
It's hard to know what to make of Steam Detectives. It's fairly simplistic, and the early episodes are pretty formulaic. Thin mystery solved by single simple clue culminating in battle between steam-powered robots. Good music, a backdrop of a child's version of steampunk noir, but they don't really push very hard and you'd guess that the target audience was 8-12.
Then about half-way through the series, we get a guy driven driven to psychosis by parental neglect killing himself in a lucid moment to spare others after four murders, followed immediately by a story about a little girl who dies from failed kidneys. WTF?
They're version of Amazing Grace is pretty awesome, and the soundtrack in general is pretty noteworthy.
