Unconference
From Zanecorpwiki
The anti-conference software. Decentralized conference organization that leads to a well organized conference. Why are so many open source conferences closed? Closed in participation through fees, but also closed through organization.
Inspiration is something like Barcamp, but the point isn't free as in beer, but free as in speech. Indeed, I see one of the key features as democratically elected speakers whose fees are paid by participants. The point is flipping control and increasing the attractiveness of conferences.
Initially, the conferences would likely rely on an individual or group to take care of preparation and administrative task, though in later versions, these could be shared out as well. These later features would concentrate on lowering the bar to conference creation.
