Undisputed III

Violent but impressive fight movie. DVD and BluRay

Summary

The fight scenes are pretty impressive. A mix of impressive acrobatics and gritty fight scenes. The movie boils over with man juice... I don't think there's a single female in the entire movie except in the background in a couple bar/casino scenes. Certainly no woman with a line. But that's just the kind of movie it is.

The story is a true sequel to Undisputed II and really the better of the two. (Neither movie has any narrative relation with Undisputed.)

Details and Notes

Despite the gritty aesthetic, these are clearly not realistic fight scenes, but they are fun! If you like that sort of things. It's clear the fight choreographer and director love spinning kicks, and there are about a dozen spectacular slow motion shots of rotating fury.

There's lots of blood and grunting and crunching, and I'm sure a lot of people would say the movie is too violent. I can sympathize, but for the most part, it's all so clearly theatrical and fake, it doesn't really bother me. (Mild spoiler.) There is, however, one injury scene that's pretty cringe worthy, but also kind of impressive. I'm not clear at all how they pulled off the trick. Is it CGI?
